French open centre court roof. Its 11 pane retractable roof is currently being fitted. 8 sections are already in place and the last 3 will be installed by the end of january 2020. The french open is one of the most historic competitions in the world but the clay court venue has been brought bang up to date with the addition of a retractable roof. Once they are assembled into two units these sections make up a truss that spans 105 metres and is mounted with canvas.
The structure covers roland. Tennis grand slam circuit switches its focus to paris following the australian open but roland garros will have a different look for this year. Each truss is split into 7 sections measuring 15m long and 3m high.
